just a minor update

Just putting a post up cuz well its been like 1 month since last post. Well theres a big post coming up, but for now this will do.

So....I just read about the results from Man Utd vs Malaysia match and I'm quite surprised. Its not that I'm surprised that Malaysia lost, but we lost 3-2. I mean thats close to a draw already. I'm no football expert but it seems like finally theres some hope for Malaysian football. Just a fact: in the football world rankings, Malaysia is ranked 157th. And theres a rematch I heard this Monday so as a Malaysian, I really hope we beat Man Utd this time, no offence to any Man Utd fan. Sad thing is, I cant watch any match cuz theres no Astro here and I'll be lucky if I even get a Malaysian TV reception here. Well just have to watch the replays then.

Owh and I watched that "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" movie last Thursday. If you asked me, its quite great. I didnt expect much though but its a good movie (4 stars from me). There is not much fighting scences though but it sure has a very dark plot. My advise: dont expect too much from a movie cuz most of the time you will be dissappointed unless that movie really sucks. What I heard is the next and last movie will be in 2 parts, well till then better not hear or read about any Harry Potter ending spoilers :)

And yes I've watched "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" with my uni bro "Azwan" aka "Kacang" (dont ask me why Kacang). If you watched the first movie, you must watch this one. Some people say the first one is better than the second one and some people said vice-versa. My opinion?? Both movies are great and both have their short-comings. I'll just talk a bit about the second movie: theres a lack of (how should I say it....) transformers character in the movie. If you watched it and I recommend you do first before reading on.... we dont know the names of most of the new transformers especially on the Decepticons side. (Some people may think its Blackout during the scene where Optimus died but its actually another transformer). The big battle is quite brief but great and quite dissappointing how the huge combined transformer died (should be in the tank battle scene). And just to add a bit here, I know I'm over-expecting it and know it wont be in the movie but they didnt include Unicron. Ok what is Unicron? Its just the largest transformer and if I'm correct the one who destroyed Cybertron (transformers homeworld) in the comics. The size is as big as a planet. Just imagine the "Fantastic 4: Silver Surfer" planet sized cloud thingy. Anyways I still give the movie 5 stars and worth watching.

And last but not least, tomorrow (if your in Malaysia) or today (if your in Australia) is the 40th Anniversary of the first moon landing. Just to refresh your memory, its the part where Neil Armstrong takes the first step onto the moon. Yes its that quote all of you heard of: "one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind". Note that officially he didnt say the "a". Its been 40 years and see how much we have advanced in space technology. We are even building a space station now!! Yes I know this is all a bit too geeky but its just amazing. Imagine yourself 40 years ago where people are watching the moon landing in black and white TVs. Now fast-forward 40 years and see how much we have advanced all these years. It is just amazing......

Dr Pepper

Wow, I've looked at the number of posts I did every month since I started blogging and its like on average about 2 posts per month. Now that was not I expected when I started blogging. Ok so from now I'll TRY to put some effort in posting my blogs regularly.

Ok so I finished my last week of uni for my first semester, well it is my last monday and I've just finished my practical exam, the marks which is obviously will be counted towards my finals. My friend Chris still haven't finished his classes so I think I should get a drink first while waiting.

Hmm so where should I go. I can go to Coles (place where you buy your groceries) at the nearby shopping centre and grab a coke for 1 dollar but yeah its like walking from Sunway University College to Sunway Pyramid, so no i guess. Theres a bar in my uni but theres something inside me that says I cant go there. Anyways in the end I choose to go to the local uni shop.

Allright I was thinking about getting a vanilla coke, or maybe a sprite or maybe both, well as I was walking to the shop I saw this sign they placed outside: Dr Pepper $1.95 (from $2.50).



Note that I never ever tried Dr Pepper before in my life, that is as far as I can remember but I'm 100% sure i never had it before. I've somehow heard about it before but never actually seen one. So I went in to find this mysterious drink and saw the cans neatly stacked in front of the fridge. Ok I'll just grab one and try it. Maybe I'll like it or maybe I wont. Who cares. (Well I do because its my money)

So I went over and theres this sign which stopped me. It says "Find me cold in the fridge". The sign does have a point so I followed what the sign says and grab one of those similar looking cans from the fridge.



Ok so I looked and studied it carefully. The can is cylinder in shape, looks like a harmless coca-cola can. It smells like a normal can. It even tastes like a normal can (ok seriously i didnt lick that can). Hmm the ingredient says it contains carbonated water, a bit of corn and some chemicals and suff. No non-halal things so its safe to drink.

For me if it has carbonated water then it must taste like coke just with different flavours. Whats the different flavour? Well that I will find out soon enough. I wonder if i should just buy a pepsi but i cant resist the idea of trying out a new drink. Maybe it is better than vanilla coke which is my favourite soft drink (second is F&N strawberry).

I bought the mysterious can and stared at it. Ok Dr Pepper, lets see what you taste like. The can opened with the pop sound thingy that all carbonated drink cans do. Hmm smells like coke and colour looks like coke as well. Ok now the taste....

Owh wat the!? It tastes like....like....cough medicine!? Checking the ingredients again, it does'nt say any cough medicine being put inside, maybe its just my imagination. Ok lets try it again......ok it really tastes like cough medicine. But then again, it is not that bad, ok just to be sure.......yup it tastes like cough medicine.

Well thats what I think it tastes like. Different people have different tastes. Some people may like it and even regard it as their favourite drink and some people might not even like it at all. If everyone have the same taste then it will just be weird then. Me? Yeah its ok I guess, its not that great but its not that bad, I did finish it and was thinking of getting another one.

Lets just say Dr Pepper failed to take the place as my most favourite soft drink. My favourite soft drinks:

1st Vanilla Coke
2nd F&N Strawberry/Grape

3rd Sprite

Anyway Dr Pepper is good in a way and maybe I'll have it next time when is see it considering that it is somewhat very uncommon to find in Malaysia. Maybe it will be my favourite soft drink one day. But for now I'll just have a Vanilla Coke........

2nd Last Week

Yup my first semester in Uni is already coming to an end but I've just started trying to settle down. OWH NOES!!!!! Luckily for me my exams will start on the second week of the exam month. So I get some time to "study". Yes I will study this time. Seriously......

Unfortunately for me my Maths and Comp exams day are next to each other and I still don't understand that integration and imaginary number part. How can a number exist if its imaginary!?

I used to be good in maths but not anymore though....obviously. How fast time goes huh, I still remember the times where I would get the top score for maths. Those were the days.....


Its week 12 of uni already and the last week is week13 (not a lucky number for some people) which is next week(duh!!). Well I think its time for me to start reading my Comp textbook which is as thick as my dictionary. No kidding!!!!

Some of my friends have just finished their finals for the semester(UITM), some are waiting for their results, some just started it and maybe even finished it already (CIMP), and some dont even have final exams (Justin -_-), but mine is coming......

The thing that worries me most now is maths, I somehow did it badly at first (as usual) and now I dont have the confidence to do my finals. Even Wayne's quotient rule video can't help me now (Wayne go make another video). And I must not forget my Comp which consists of (for those who didnt know yet) programming the C++ language. See even computers now have languages, but I dont know why they don't want to learn english....hard for them maybe....

And I must not forget about my ELEC141 which is Digital Fundamentals. It consists of basics of electronics, remember those NOT AND OR gates we learn in high school?? 0011 0101 1110 and those HI LOW , remember now?? Yeah so its just the continuation of it, learning about flip-flops and stuff......wow I really to improve my drawing lol!!

Then last but not least theres ISYS123 which I took as one of my electives for my course. So what I learn in this unit? Well it is actually a core unit for those e-business course students. We learn stuff like hardware, software, what is a computer, information systems in business and so on. Assignments are doing documents like microsoft word, excell, powerpoint and access. Owh and theres one where we have to do a basic HTML webpage. Sounds easy right?? Yes it is....well its weird but many poeple still fail this unit. Reason behind this is mostly underestimating the unit..........

Anyways all of these I have to study in 2 weeks time....and not to mention the practical exam for ISYS123 is next week....its doing all those microsoft documents mentioned earlier.....

So I end this post by wishing good luck to those who are like me waiting for their exams and those still doing theirs or have finished it. If you finished then good luck on your final results.... :)

Quotient Rulez??

Ok so this post should be posted like 3 weeks ago but its been carry forward till today because of yes....Uni work....anyways completed it finally, sorry everyone especially Wayne for my lateness.....
Last last last(this is not a typo) Sunday I was doing me Math135 assignment. Ok before you ask Math135 is calculus. Maths A to be exact. They broke it up into two units, Math135 and Math136 because it is too big. Ok its not just calculus in Math135, half of it is Algebra. Anyways this post is not about that and I'll just stick to the title.

Where was I? Owh yes....I was doing the assignment which will be due tomorrow (yes last minute work) and suddenly I came across this question which requires me to find the derivative of a fraction. So the next obvious step is to use the quotient rule. Ok dont panic I told myself. I've watched Wayne's quotient rule video so everything I need to do is recall the formula in that video. Ok so my crappy flashback didnt work this time. Opening youtube for the video. Heres a copy of the video:

Hmm now lets see what was in the video shall we, ok so the scene starts with two guys owh wait its three guys(where he come from?), doing some sort of pop quiz. Hmm I guess its a quotient rule question. Still no sign of the formula appearing, owh wait something is happening. Door opening, Zaleha enters room carrying some files. She looks at watch and says that theres only 2 minute left.

Common sense tells me that she must be the lecturer. She smiled and points to something on the whiteboard (calculus lecturers likes to smile and point to whiteboard meh?). Wait what is that shes pointing at? Cant see anything, is she pointing to a fly? No wait theres some sort of formula on the board....

Ok I picked up my pen ready to write down the formula as the camera zooms in. Here it comes....wait for it......(scene changes before anything could be seen and made sense)....

WAT THE CRAP!!!!

Suddenly Wayne appears playing with the broom like its a guitar. Where did he come from? The lights in the class room starts to flash. Hmm....Sunway Uni really needs to change those lights. Scene changes again this time they are singing some sort of formula. Hmm maybe its the quotient rule. Unfortunately I can't make out what they are saying....

Then Wayne magically appeared again this time in the toilet. And yes he's still holding that broom and he's playing it with Jonathan(name from credits duh!!) who is holding a dustpan as his guitar. -__-

Scene basically changes again and again
Wait the whiteboard appears again, and the formula is being said. I cant make out the formula as it is being said too fast. Camera is moving soo much I cant see whats on the whiteboard clearly.

One scene shows Wayne sitting on a table playing a guitar, looks like mine but it doesnt look like mine(what????). Another scene shows all four guys sitting in a room all playing their guitars but this time Wayne is playing a cool black guitar.

Ending scene idea was good though jumping off from the second floor (good idea when you don't know how to answer the quiz). Credits rolled in and in the end I assume that they didnt finish the pop quiz. Ok lets look at what are the main points I wrote down from watching this video:

So the answers (2x3+1)(6x-4) subtract with (3x2-4x-4),

Ok this should be like last week's post. Since its almost done might as well post it. I blame uni work for this.....

SO LAST Last weekend I opened facebook and saw two of my high school classmates, Naqya and acap (Asyraf Tahir - its all about details people!!!!), doing quizzes and commenting each others one like crazy. Hey they did a lot until my facebook homepage was filled to the bottom with only their quiz updates. Gosh and I thought I was annoying.... :P

Well anyways I joined them and we did a lot of those pointless but fun quizes and commented back on each others with meaningless comments all in the name of fun. Wow I havent done that many quizzes in a long time already. And I have been spending like 4 to 5 hours on facebook continously. (Some nerdy stuff crap) During all those quiz spamming frenzy my firefox browser was extremely slow for some very unknown reasons and then it would crash and I would get very annoyed at it but not tonight(end of nerdy stuff, its safe people). Yup I felt happy again....well thats for now....

I look at the time and would you believe it that its already 4 am. Well obviously I'm not surprised. Time sure pass very fast when you're having fun. Better get some sleep......wont want to sleep in class again right??
